SGA World and independent member firms

SGA World is an international network of independent member firms. SGA World Limited operates this website and supports the network but does not provide professional client services through the website. Each member firm is a separate legal entity that accepts and performs its own engagements and remains responsible for its own acts, omissions, personnel and professional work.

Membership does not by itself create a partnership, joint venture or agency between SGA World Limited and a member firm, or between member firms. No member firm may bind SGA World Limited or another member firm unless that entity has expressly agreed in writing. A reference to a member firm, person or service on this website does not create a client relationship or make SGA World Limited responsible for that firm's services.

Enquiries and professional engagements

Sending an enquiry, email or other message through the website does not create a professional engagement, fiduciary relationship or duty to act. It is not an acceptance of instructions, and no deadline should be treated as accepted until the relevant independent member firm confirms this in writing. Any professional service is governed by separate engagement terms agreed directly with the firm providing it.

Do not send client-confidential, privileged, special-category or time-critical information through the general enquiry form unless SGA World or the relevant member firm has asked for it and provided an appropriate channel. If you give the separate optional referral permission, SGA World may share your enquiry with an appropriate independent member firm as explained in the Privacy Notice.

Permitted use

You may use the website for lawful informational and business purposes. You must not:

• use it unlawfully, fraudulently or in a way that infringes another person's rights;
• attempt unauthorised access to the website, server, accounts, data or security controls;
• introduce malware, harmful code or material designed to disrupt or damage systems;
• impersonate SGA World, a member firm or another person, or imply a false endorsement;
• collect personal information or use automated extraction in a way that breaches law, circumvents controls or materially disrupts the website; or
• use website content to create misleading, deceptive or unlawful material.

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, users, SGA World or member firms, or to comply with law.

Unless stated otherwise, the website's original text, design, code and SGA World brand materials are owned by or licensed to SGA World Limited. Member-firm names, logos and third-party marks belong to their respective owners. All rights are reserved.

You may view and print reasonable extracts for your own internal, non-commercial use. You may link fairly to a public page, provided the link does not imply endorsement, partnership or approval. You must not frame the website, remove ownership notices, alter or republish substantial content, use SGA World branding, or exploit website material commercially without prior written permission or another lawful basis.

Accuracy, availability and security

We take reasonable care when maintaining the website, but information may become incomplete or out of date. Member details, service availability, events and external links can change. We do not promise that the website will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free or free from harmful components. You should use appropriate device, browser and security protections.

Links to member-firm and other third-party websites are provided for convenience. Those websites are controlled by their respective operators and may have different terms, privacy practices and security measures. A link does not, by itself, mean that SGA World Limited endorses or accepts responsibility for the linked website or its content.

Responsibility and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law, SGA World Limited is not responsible for loss arising from reliance on general website information instead of obtaining appropriate professional advice, from the acts or omissions of an independent member firm, from a third-party website, or from events outside its reasonable control. We may update these terms to reflect changes to the website, our organisation or applicable law. The current version and its update date will remain available on this page. Changes apply from publication and do not alter separately agreed professional engagement terms.
